The Antineoplastons are working! [Aug. 10th, 2006|11:05 am]

We got some incredible news yesterday from Burzynski! Dr. Roja and Dr. Burzynski reviewed Justin's MRI from Monday and feel that the Antineoplastons are in the beginning stages of breaking down the tumor!!! It's early and Justin has a long road ahead, but they are very encouraged by what they see, as # 1 - he's only been on the treatment for about 6 weeks total, # 2 - the dosage he's getting is not large, and # 3 - he's only been getting the A10 portion of the treatment for the majority of the 6 weeks. Considering these things and still seeing the positive changes in the tumor, this is GREAT NEWS!

Here's a couple of specifics of what they see on the MRI...the scans show significantly less enhancement (cancer cell growth) around the tumor when compared to the June MRI (approx. 8 weeks ago.) Within the tumor itself a cystic formation is observed (liquid/necrosis) vs. a more solid tumor on the June scan.

As the tumor begins to break down, Justin's body will begin reabsorbing it. This is slow and careful process. As Dr. Roja states, it took years for this tumor to grow, it's going to take a long time for it to go away as well. We say, as long as we have our beautiful boy we don't care how long it takes!

Thank you, God, thank you friends and family, thank you Justin supporters!!! Your love, prayers and positive energy are continuing to work wonders! We need Justin stronger than ever for this fight of his life and we need your prayers and support to continue as he prepares for this. Please pray that his body and mind will remain strong and that he can blast this curve ball that life has thrown him right out of the park.

Great News!!

Hey Bissett's!
Wow - great news you have had!! That is so wonderful. We are here in Houston now and feel like all of the people at Burzynski are so loving and caring. They truly have the patient's best interest at heart and we are hopeful of great response with Leslie as well. I received your message on the site about the Duggan's house, but not until Friday night and we already had things set-up here at the StudioPlus in Westchase. We like it so far, but we may call if that changes. As it turns out, the Duggan's are a client of Mike's sister in Spokane, WA - small world, huh? She noticed your entry on Leslie's site and put 2 + 2 together! Hey, please post on our site what time zone you are in and the best time to call. We will try to call while we are here. Things were SO crazy at home before we left that we did not have time. Take care. Mary Schmidt (Leslie's mom)
